Comfort Taxi SHD357E – ★ Horrible

9 Mar 2018   Aloysius | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

We were picked up at Hougang mall taxi stand along OCBC branch. There were 3 female as well as a 2 month old baby and a 8 month old baby. Which 2 prams and a number if shopping bags from groceries. We were asked by the taxi driver if we’re were going to Hougang area. And we replied yes its just round the corner. While we were loading our prams and groceries into the taxi booth. The taxi driver was pestering us to be quick while seated at his seat showing no effort on helping. What made me write this complaint was when he told us to leave his cab as we were too slow! We had to removed all of our bulky items from his booth.

Comfort Taxi SHC3365S – ★ Arrrogant driver

8 Mar 2018   Belinda KN | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

Boarded before 9am at Paya Lebar Square to State Courts. Got in and told him the route I wanted to take. Then I asked him adjust his aircond so it will be colder. His retort was that I was DEMANDING!.
Along the way I told him please don’t turn right here and he said “How to turn right here?” I said “your right turn indicator is on”. He said “I want to on early and here also cannot turn right. Obviously I am turning right further down.”

He thought he was very clever and made me feel stupid. He could have told me nicely but chose to tell me off!

Comfort Taxi SH3265 – ★ Bad, taxi ride should be fuss free with no stress to customer

6 Mar 2018   Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

Dear Comfort,
Every weekday morning I take a cab at 8.30am from Simei St 1 to my office at Amoy Street. And would reach around 9am and the fare with the gantry charges is around 24$.

I so happened to encounter a ‘Just my bad luck’ incident on Monday 5 March 2018. Boarded a Comfort Blue SH3265 and told the driver, as I always do to all the drivers – “Take PIE then to MCE and use Maxwell (to reach my destination).” The taxi driver said, OK, OK and of course I felt like all if not most, cab drivers, he knew the whole route.

Upon passing out of the MCE tunnel, and proceeding to the Marina Bay Fire Station he asked me all sorts of questions like – “turn to cecil st? then telok ayer? I mean how would I know all these nitty gritty details? All I know is what I told him earlier – the standard that I tell all drivers (cos I learned from one) “– Take PIE then to MCE and use Maxwell (to reach my destination)”

So I signal him its towards the right direction and told him he had to pass by the Amoy Hawker Centre and then to the Temple corner. Common knowledge, right? And this was also AFTER he wanted to turn left somewhere at the junction after or before the Marina Bay Fire station – even after I told him the way forward is towards the right, to Amoy hawker and temple at corner. Lucky he managed in time not to turn left and proceeded straight on which was too late for him to filter to the most right lane and was at the middle lane. And he said why didn’t I tell him go most right lane. I already said Amoy Hawker and the temple direction. – isn’t that common sense and that he had to turn right and some more I did tell him it was right earlier – why did he have to want to turn left at the MB fire station and lost all momentum. And I am no driver myself, him going to the most right lane is not even my responsibility. He had been given enough direction from the start and during the journey.

It was already too late for him to use to make the right turning to Amoy hawker centre, so we had to go all the way to a building with a carpark – I believe it could be the MND building, make a U turn at the carpark and went back to the corner where he then could turn left to amoy hawker and pass the Tua Pay Kong Temple. I told him then he had to trim the fare as my fare is always like around $24.50. Once we finally reach my office, the fare was $28 and he refused to trim the fare to around what I always paid.

For verification you can also check the fare from what system you have or check with any driver and they can tell you its about that price unless of course extreme heavy jam which did not happen on that day.

This sort of driver should not be allowed on our roads as he is not trained and if he doesn’t know the route he should tell me from beginning he is not sure. I would have taken another cab. I have given him more than enough info and he must know that most commuters like myslf are not drivers and would not know driving protocols.

I want to know what Comfort is going to do about the situation. He has to return me $3.50. Not being calculative or anything but he was rude and adamant that it was my fault. I have never encountered any problem with other drivers except him.

Thank you for your time.

CityCab SHD9640 – ★ Arrogant road hog

5 Mar 2018   Mary Goh | Taxi Company: CityCab

On 5 Mar at about 7.20am along CTE towards Orchard, the above arrogant driver was hogging Lane 1 at 60-70 km/hr. Despite honking, driver refused to give way and continued at his slow speed. Isn’t he aware of road etiquette that to keep left unless overtaking and he was obstructing traffic on Lane 1, forcing other drivers to overtake from the left. Which I was left with no choice, but to overtake him from the left by squeezing between Lane 1 and 2. Does this driver have a proper licence or does he need to re-take his Driving Theory again?

Would be good for your Co to investigate and update me of the outcome of your investigation. I believe he has a back passenger.

Thank you.

Comfort Taxi SHB3952C – ★ Worst ride ever!

25 Feb 2018   Jermine Wu | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

Cab driver attitude was terrible. The first thing when we board the cab he didn’t acknowledge the destination we were heading to and when we were near our destination he didn’t drop us at the said destination but instead shouted “HOW LONG DO WE INTEND TO STAY IN THE CAB” at the TOP of his voice. We did not even have any form of communication with him for the whole ride so are sure that we did not offend him in any way. Is this the kind of attitude a passenger deserve? He sounded like he wanted to chase us out of the cab. If I don’t remember wrongly I’m paying for every minute I stay in the cab. Worst cab experience ever! I do take frequent comfort cab trips in my job scope and this is really an upsetting experience. Please do something about it, as these kind of drivers really tarnish your brand reputation.

Comfort Taxi SHC3239Z – ★ Shockingly rude taxi driver

24 Feb 2018   Syed Muhammad Hafiz | Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

I had book the said taxi via the SMS service earlier today. Initially the driver was professional in receiving us ( my wife, baby and I). He did not say anything throughout the trip which I thought was normal. Then towards the end of the journey, my wife and I realized we might not have enough cash. I proceeded to check both our wallets, while at the same time maintaining my glance towards the fare meter.

As we approached our destination, I thought we might have just enough for the trip so I emptied out both my wife’s and my own wallet. When the taxi stopped, I passed the driver our notes first and was counting the coins before making sure that we had the full amount. Unfortunately, I we short of 20 to 30 cents so I offered the driver to pay by NETS.

That was when he, very rudely, replied, “You already passed me your money right? What more you want!” He wasn’t exactly shouting but his tone surprised both of us. We could have paid the full amount via NETS but he waved us off. And I was just making sure that he is ok with that by asking him again, yet he just brushed us off rudely – as if we planned to not pay him the full amount which was just a few cents short in the end.

I wish to complain about this shockingly rude behavior as I thought it was very uncalled for. First of all, I was carrying a lot of bags and my wife was carrying our baby, hence I was very thankful to get a taxi initially. However the driver’s rude behavior spoiled our both our moods for the rest of the day. I thought with stiff competition from companies like Grab and Uber, conventional taxi drivers would strife to better their performance? I know that price is always a factor but I would rather pay more for a driver who would treat me with respect, compared to a cheaper fare but a driver who do not possess even basic courtesy.

I hope you will counsel this particular driver accordingly. My wife and I were thinking that maybe he had a tiring day, or might have encountered a nasty passenger before us but surely, that does not warrant him to let it out on the next passenger?

Comfort Taxi CSHD4350Y – ★ Rude

22 Feb 2018   Taxi Company: Comfort Taxi

I got rejected by this taxi driver at Singapore Checkpoint, as I was living nearby so he refused to send me. He even accused me of not queuing when I was clearly from the line.
