GrabFamily (Overview)

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) requires all passengers below 1.35m to be restrained with age-appropriate safety devices when travelling in a private vehicle. As GrabFamily rides are the only vehicles guaranteed to have compliant restraints, you no longer have to worry about the safety of your children whenever you book through a ride-hailing app! 

With drivers professionally trained to cater to the needs of your child during the journey, the busy parent can finally take a breather! Ensure that your child is properly secured until arrival at your selected destination – even if the little one fidgets. This is in compliance with the Land Transport Authority directions, and puts the parents’ as well as the drivers’ mind at ease. 

Under this service, parents may select the appropriate vehicle according to the age and height of the child. The GrabFamily (Ages 1-3) is an on-demand ride-hailing service equipped with 1 Urban Kanga / IMMI GO car seat for children aged 1 – 3 years old, below 1 metre in height. Drivers for the service have been trained to use and maintain the Urban Kanga/ IMMI GO car seat for the benefit of securely restraining the child during the ride. 

The GrabFamily (Ages 4-7) on the other hand is equipped with 1 mifold booster seat for children aged 4 – 7 years old, between 1 – 1.35 metres in height. The first surcharge for a mifold booster seat has been included in the base fare. For any additional use, each mifold is available at $2 per booster seat.
