Great honest driver who returned my phone that I left in the cab!
As soon as I hopped on the cab, the driver asked me to let him know if I was feeling cold. When I made a phone call, he turned the volume of the radio down. He was very polite throughout the entire journey and it was a smooth ride (no jerking and jam braking) home 🙂
“I was waiting at the side of the Zebra crossing along Kovan just opposite The Tembusu showflat. This cab did not stop but accelerate instead. The date is 31/10/2013 around 8.20pm.
He post a danger to pedestrian and to the passenger in his cab as well”
Hailed a Taxi a couple of minutes away from City Square Residences to the City Square condo, and from the moment I got in I realized that was a big mistake. Despite having stopped for me, the taxi driver proceeded to make it very clear it the worse possible way, that hailing a taxi outside of a taxi stop is not the proper way to call a taxi in Singapore.
As we were getting closer to the destination he started being extremely rude. I proceeded to tell him that there as no need for rudeness, he promptly responded screaming “”Rude? I stopped for you, that is not how you catch a taxi in Singapore.
Well, I am not from Singapore, most countries I have visited and lived in Taxis are supposed to spot when you hail them.
Is this really how Singapore want’s visitors to be treated? Even in the worse places, renowned for “”aggressive”” taxi drivers, they are typically polite to tourists and people that are not local. “
Thung Toh Hin – the kind of rude and pretentious taxi uncle who brings you on the long route and extremely impolite.
My friend & I boarded this cab from Changi Business Park just before midnight on 30 Oct, heading for Tiong Bahru & Jurong West. During the journey on AYE, we noticed he tend to drive to the left with sudden jerk, so we realized he was feeling drowsy. My friend & I started to chat loudly just to keep him alert along the way. However, whenever we stopped chatting, he would drift off again. He took out one candy to suck on but that didn’t last long.
When the cab stopped at the traffic junction just before turning into Jln Bukit Merah, obviously he was still feeling sleepy as he wanted to turn when it was red light!! I quickly shouted out & he apologized saying that he thought it was green!! We quickly gave the excuse that I was going to my friend’s house instead so I alighted with my friend at the same time & boarded another cab.
Please do remind your cab drivers that it is very dangerous to drive when they are feeling sleepy, especially those in the red-eye shift. Educate them to take a short break when necessary. They are not only putting the passenger & their lives at risk, they need to consider other drivers’ on the road. Money can be earned, but lives can’t be revived once they are gone. Be considerate to their love ones & other people’s.
The taxi driver was being very very rude n very inconsiderate!never even move a little bit forward to a-least help me to put my things and my stroller back in the bonnet.as the distance was quite far especially when i am carrying my 7mths old son.the most he could do was jus stand at his bonnet to just see if my stroller did touch or damage his back of the taxi.when i ask if he could at least help me to carry some the things,he said that its not his job and of course he will not help.pls explain what kind of driver are u people having to drive a taxi nowadays???!its ridiculous!and he is still blabbering inside the taxi while he is still driving saying that he is not suppose to help as he is a taxi driver.so rude!pls advice on this write in that i have wrote.i wouldn’t want any one to have this experience while taking a taxi in singapore.especially foreigners.such a shame.

Despite our security stop him and question him he was very rude indeed and he threatened to pick our customer on call. We the management will not tolerate such threat from cab service provider. We do have a pick up point provided at siemens centre for our custormer to flag and alight from cab. In future ,please educate your cab drive to have the courtesy to ask around in case lost the way rather then driving into restricted area and taking shortcut by accessing into our carpark area mend for siemens staffs.
