CityCab SAC7537L – An Insult from Taxi Driver

“To whom may it concern,

This afternoon when my colleague (male) and I (female) finished visiting a customer at Telok Ayer Street and decided to take a taxi to Tiong Bahru Bakery shop before we going back office. We got the taxi of citycab via Taxi Booking app from iphone.

Initially, both of us hadn’t idea of the exact block number of Tiong Bahru Bakery, so we explained to the driver that somewhere near Eng Hoon Street. But he thought it was Boon Tiong Road. During the trip, the driver kept glancing at me and my colleague from the rear mirror, and kept asking us if we were going the HDB block at Tiong Bahru. When the taxi was almost reaching the Tiong Bahru Bakery, we told him that was the place. Surprisingly, he said to us “”Yah..there are a lot of food here, you all can go to have a drink and snack, there also is a hotel further down””.

Both of us felt insulted by his words but kept quiet, we decided to make this report to City cab and request the driver’s apologies. Thank you

 

Comfort Taxi SHC8179E – Bad attitude

Hi.. Me and my friend got up on this cab on Sin Ming Ave and have told driver Aziz B Daud that we will be going to 2 places and also did told him that we will be stopping on the first location to run a short errand which don’t last for 10mins.. And he keep telling us he can’t wait for even 5mins of the time.. And me and my friend got off the cab and went to run our errand.. And we even run back to the cab after our errand, and what we found out is he even use his phone to time the time we spend on the errand.. And say that we took a long time of 7mins.. Kindly check is if the driver is busy later then why should they pick a customer and they can’t even wait? Is not like we ask him to stop the meter when we are away doing short errand.. We are paying for even second we spend on our 7min (which is time by him) errand.. If they are not able to wait then what is the point of picking up customer.. I am seriously pissed off with what he doing like timing how long we took and using a very angry tone saying that we took a very long time for our errand.. If this is how the company can driver works then I think seriously you all should do something about their manner.. We are paying for the ride and we get those shit stuff for paying so much for taking a cab.. This is seriously bullshit..

 

Trans Cab SHD999C – Driver with integrity and excellent service

“The driver actually make a personal phone call to assure me that he is on his way and will be arriving very soon. I appreciate his gesture as I have recently encountered missing booked cab.

After I got home, I realized I paid an extra of $8 from what I was purposed to pay. I was careless and wasn’t expecting the money to come back. However to my greatest surprise, the driver actually texted me and told me his was on his way back to return me the money. I am truly truly amazed by his integrity and for him to go the extra mile. 🙂

Sorry for not asking for your name. Thank you so much for providing me (and your passengers) with such excellent service! “

“There’s no taxi and finally I got one.. I go inside the taxi and I say no 1 sims lane!! The taxi driver said what.. he don’t know… when I want to show him, he say don’t show… what kind of taxi driver are you???!.. next time don’t become a taxi driver when you don’t know the route..

Premier Taxis SHC6858S – VERY VERY BAD

“I have told the driver to take me to a place next to Lavender MRT.

As we drove through victoria st, i asked him to go over the right lane because i needed him to turn right to the apt (southbank) right there on the right.

He made a u turn and i asked him to turn right instead. He started yelling because he assumed i told him to do a u turn and i said it is rude to him to yell and scream

He later on screamed because i said “”rude”” and told me it is dangerous and it was my fault to ask him to do a u turn and complained i said it was lavender mrt which I CLEARLY said NEXT to lavender MRT.

I am not sure if the guy expects me to speak in singlish so he understands but i have had taxi drivers in singapore yelled and screamed at me and actually made me cry. So please try to hire people who are friendlier.

I told him i will report this and he SCREAMED “”GO AHEAD!!! Thank YOU!”” After i paid 12 dollars for a very scary 10.80 ride

I am not happy at all this experience has left me shaky

I was driving along middle road hoping to turn right to victoria street. Sha5448 sped up, flashed his headlights at me.

 

Prime Taxi SHD 2722Y – CHEATER

waved a prime cab taxi numbered SHD 2722Y (unclearly handwritten, receipt number 43767) from telok ayer to hoy fatt rd off jalan bukit merah via outram rd. i always take the same route as i work part time around the area and my taxi fare always less than $10. but that night, when i boarded i was a bit drunk then the cabby asked me whether i would need him to issue the receipt, being drunk and it’s just another regular trip home, i said no. by the time we reached, the meter showed $13.75. shocked, i asked for receipt. cabby refused to print and issued the written receipt. i take that route at least twice a week with various taxi companies with fares range from $8 – $8.50. only that night, the fare cost more than $10. went on to call the prime taxi company and emailed them to no avail until i found this website. hopefulle my experience wont be repeated to others.

 

Smart Cab SHC4532U – Irresponsible driver

The moment driver knew I stayed at Flora Drive, he started to show his unhappiness by speeding the taxi at 120/130 mph. When inside the apartment compound, I told him to turn left and go to the last block of that stretch. He just accelerated and overshot. When I told him he had overshot, he raised his voice and asked me why did I say last block. After alighting from the taxi, again he sped off with the smoke coming out from tires (I knew he was rushing to airport again as he was checking the flight timing on his GPS). His license should be suspended for driving dangerously and unfriendly attitude – especially driving a premium Chrysler taxi!

 

Comfort Taxi SHB6215C – Verbally Insulted by Driver

“Dear Sir / Mdm

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received from SHB6215C on 15/09/2013.

Time Started: 14:51

Time Ended: 15:13

I made a booking from Compass Point and told the driver that I am going to Regent Hotel. Halfway through the journey, I have requested that I would like to include another destination to pick up my friends at Ion Orchard before completing the trip at Regent Hotel.

After exiting Carhill Circles, the driver asked if my friends are waiting at Ion Orchard. I replied not yet, and he started shouting and said he will not wait because he was rushing for time. I commented that he should not accept the booking if he was in a rush as he is not allowed to terminate the service without completing the full journey.

I refused to pay the fare unless he completes the journey and he started commenting in Mandarin that I was barbaric, (野蛮) and the booking fee of $2plus was not a big deal. He then added in Hokkien that it was totally not of use that I have received so much education (读这么多书都没什么用) and continued to emphasize that I was barbaric.

In the end, I alighted at Ion Orchard after realising that Ion Orchard does not allow vehicles to obstruct the traffic at the pickup and drop off area. I would have appreciated if the driver could explain his reasons politely for not being able to stop his vehicle at the pickup area instead of being so rude in this case. There was absolutely no need for him to make such a personal verbal insult.

I would like to recommend that drivers should behave in a polite manner to the passengers. I also expect an apology from the driver for his behaviour towards me.
